... In other words the frog. The frog is my most favorite animal, and yes it is classified as an animal-amphibian. Have you ever disected something? Most teachers tend to use the frog because it is easiest animal to get and it is more cheap than the others. Did you know, that if the frog population ever ceased to exist we would be overun with insects and bugs? A spider can't on the insect population alone you know.
Frogs start off as eggs laid by the female frog and fertilized from the male frog. Once the eggs are laid by the mother, danger starts immediatley. Many fish eat frog eggs as a delicacy, even humans, as we know it as, caviar. Yes, it's fish eggs. If lucky once that survive birth, start out as a tadpole, then develop into a frog. There are almost 5,000 known species of frogs.

Yes! There are scorpions that glows, as a matter of fact, all scorpions glow. They even glow after death, even after fossilized! Why you ask? Because a thin, transparent film (hyaline) in the outermost layer (cuticle) of their exoskeleton contains a protein that fluoresces. Newly molten scorpions don't fluouresce because their cuticle isn't hardened, the harder the cuticle is the more the scorpion glows. This can also be very dangerous pertaining to the smaller male partner because of the battle the scorpions have to deal with in the mateing concept.

Whiskers are known as tactile hairs or vibrissae. Whiskers are the long thick hairs on the cats face. They are located horizontaly on the whisker pad located in the middle of the lower edge of the nose and the corner of the mouth. Cats also have whiskers above their eyes and on the back of their front legs. They are good for:
  • Navigation
  • Mood indication
  • Measuring an opening

Whiskers are different from the cat's body in a few ways:

  • They should never be cut or trimmed
  • They are two to three times thicker from the cat's hair
  • They are rooted very deep in the cat's face, in an area rich in blood vessels and nerves

Whiskers help the cat feel his way around. Whiskers are so sensitive that they can detect the slightest directional change in a breeze. At night, for example, this helps a cat slink its way through a room and not bump into anything. How? The air currents in the room change depending on where pieces of furniture are located. As the cat walks through the room and approaches the couch, he'll know which direction to turn based on the change in air current around the couch.

In addition to having sensory properties, a cat's whiskers are also a good indicator of his mood. When a cat is angry or feels defensive, the whiskers will be pulled back. Otherwise, when the cat is happy, curious or content, the whiskers will be more relaxed and pushed forward.

But the whisker's primary use is to help a cat judge whether or not he'll fit through an opening. A cat's whiskers are roughly as wide as his body -- sort of a natural ruler. The whisker tips are sensitive to pressure. You'll probably see a cat stick his head in and out of an opening before he puts his body in. He's judging the width of the opening, and is determining if he can fit into it. An interesting note: cats don't have a true collar bone, like humans. This allows them to turn and twist their way through very narrow openings.

Many people owe their lives to the tender protection and brave acts of other animals. Here is a simple story about one remarkable pig, there are many other stories just like this one. JoAnn Altsman had a heart attack and collapsed to the ground. Lulu, her daughter's pot-bellied pig, rushed out of the house, lying down in the street to stop traffic. The pig tried relentlessly to get help, returning to the house to check on JoAnn, only to rush back to the street desperate for help. Finally, one person stopped and followed the determined pig back to the house, where they found JoAnn in pain on the floor. She was immediately rushed to a hospital.

SPCA is another word for Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. This is a safe haven for animals being mistreated in either physical or mental abuse. These animals are either euthanised to prevent future pain if the problem can't be fixed, or they are fixed up and put on display to be adopted by responsible parents capable of taking care of them with trust that they will not mistreat them. These facilities are located all over America, there is actually an SPCA here in Dallas. Adoption through these facilities are usually not just taking them home, sometimes it could mean future care for the animals, means of medication, extra love, and maybe even 24 hour care. An animal is a blessing and are much more capable of this than humans can give them credit to be. So please if you feel capable and you are willing to change an animal's life, please adopt at the SPCA, only if you feel capable of the requirements.

There is a mutt dog that was born with a deformity, she had no front legs. The mother of Faith tried to kill her when she was born because she though that she was in danger. When mother dogs feel their pups are in danger they try to suffocate them. They picked the dog up and rushed her to the vet. The vetinarian told them the dog was destined to die and might as well to be put to sleep. By scooting across the floor she would develop internal bleeding and have to be put to sleep at that point. They swore that they could do something to change this. They helped develop faith's hind legs for her to be able to walk up right like a human. They trained her astonishing ability with peanut butter on a spoon. Whenever she would walk up right or hop she would gain her reward, the peanut butter. Faith now walks upright all the time, and everyday on her walk, people are astonished with her accomplishment. Never underestimate the ability that animals have, both on their lives, and ours.

Are Chinese Fur Industries considered just a place to get fur, or hell. For these animals, it's considered a hell. These animals are still alive whenever skinned. They tie their legs onto a ledge and begin to skin their legs. For animals that struggle and wiggle to much they stomp on their heads to get a clean cut. When done getting the fur they want, the just throw them into a useless pile of animals. Some still blinking and breathing for 5-10 minutes after being skinned. On these farms, foxes, minks, rabbits, and other animals pace and shiver in outdoor wire cages, exposed to driving rain, freezing nights, and, at other times, scorching sun. Mother animals, who are driven crazy from rough handling and intense confinement and have nowhere to hide while giving birth, often kill their babies after delivering litters. These places should be stopped, but the question is how are we going to stop them?

When you pick up a cheeseburger what do you think about? How delicious that burger could be? Or how that cow was maliciously murdered and chopped to bits so that you could quickly scarf down your food? Is it the fact that the cow was slaughtered? Or how the cow was slaughtered? Cows are usually fattened up with food first, then beaten across the head with a club and gutted so their meat could be shipped of to the nearest store so that you could enjoy a burger. What if the cows were humanely killed by euthanasia so they wouldn't feel an ounce of pain before being slaughtered. If I were the cow, I would chose the most painless way possible. Now, the cow is the most simple form of slaughter. There are much worse cases in the world.

Animal Cruelty Investigators are in charge of saving animals lives when either, the owner of the animal(s) aren't capable of taking care of them, mistreat them in any way or form, and need to get them out of the situation. Or, they can get animals out of disasterous situations such as hurricanes, tornados, and flooding. So should they be called Animal Cruelty Investigators, or life savers? In order to become a life saver, you must first decide which area you want to work on. Second, you want to major in animal cruelty and maybe minor in pshycology or sociology to determine the people's actions behind their decisions. Afterwards, you must take in Law Enforcement to get the feel of what you will be working with. After all this work is done, you are then a life saver.

According to http://www.dictionary.com/, a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering. Animals are capable of much more than humans give them credit for. For example, I've heard of any stories of a dog barking at a woman's breast to symbolize that she has breast cancer, or a dog barking to wake up his owner trying to symbolize there is a fire! Or maybe you've heard of more simple stories like a police dog from the k-9 unit sniffing out drugs in a school, or maybe chasing down a wanted criminal who's trying to run from the police? Now take a second and think if there were no more animals in this world. That would mean that maybe the lady with breast cancer probably would have died, or just maybe the person didn't wake up from the fire fast enough and burned to death. Now take one more second and try to think of the first animal ever created in this universe. Do you have any guesses? Try the Amoeba, the one-celled organism. The Amoeba came about in the precambrian period and was discovered in 1757. Early settlers referred to this animal as Proteus animalcule after the Greek God Proteus who could change his shape. Amoebas are legendary for their shape shifting abilites.
